My Infinity Christmas Parcel

Now that the fortnight of food, drink and merry-making has come to an end, and very pleasant it was too, it's time to get back to some blogging.

The enjoyableness of my festive period was increased greatly by the fact that my copy of Infinity N3 arrived on Christmas Eve, which meant that I had plenty of time to start reading through it and getting to grips with the changes.

I'm not going to go into the rules changes now, I need to have some more practical experience with it first, but I just want to take the opportunity to show off my new toys. :)

My preciousss....

The books themselves are soft-cover and come in a nice slip case. There is one book for all the rules and another for all the fluff - the background and the stories - so you aren't carrying around unnecessary weight when you go for your games. Although it doesn't matter than much as I imagine that most people are going to be using PDF versions on phones and tablets during anyway.

Overall it is a huge improvement over the previous edition. The writing is a lot clearer and is in a more technical language allowing for less misinterpretations of the rules. It also helps that this edition was written in English and then translated to Spanish rather than the other way round like the last one.

Professional badass seeking employment and maybe more. GSOH, OHAC.

As mine is a pre-ordered copy it also came with the limited edition Bounty Hunter equipped with heavy armour, who looks like he stole most of his kit from a Mobile Brigada. The model is pretty sweet and I'm looking forward to trying him out using the new profiles in N3 - especially when armed with a Sniper Rifle.

I love the trench-coat and the puffed out chest, he just looks so smug and self-important. I guess it's important to look confident when you are a mercenary.

If anybody has suggestions for colour schemes, feel free to chime in as I'm really not sure what to do with him at the moment.

Chief Propaganda Officer - Magno Magnorsson

Next I uncovered another three blister packs (my, I am greedy!) which contain the limited edition War Correspondents that are being made available to members of the WarCor program. They contain alternative arms and a head which resemble Magno, a well known player and organiser.

The model also comes with a little UAV on a flying stand which is pretty cute, although I don't know if it currently has any effect in the game.

I'm definitely going to keep one for myself and make it up stock, and I have plans to gift the second. Not sure what to do with the third though. I'll probably hang onto it for a while rather than do anything rash. Maybe it could be a good tournament prize in a couple of years time?

Can't wait to crack on with some games now!
